Re: Why so long to get a Roland?

Peopke like Dale Mathis and Richard Noel have had their 4X now for several months, long enough to put out a lot of videos, and that means a fair amount of experimentation and playing time. There are also several people in the Yahoo Roland forums that have theirs already too. Where did you order your...

Re: BK7m songbook app for Ipad?

Not in the same manner. Yes, one can save song lists but these are more for saving and bringing up settings within the BK, not to view lyrics and chords. When you save a song in the list it saves the intro variation, starting variation, selected rhythm, tempo, and instruments. All the musician does ...

Re: Anyone playing an Elka or Concerto?

Congratulations! :b Its too bad that the Concerto is so badly advertised and/or promoted. This is likely the most popular accordion forum in the world and you are the first one I see playing a Concerto here. Still a year later, I see the same videos on Youtube that I saw a year ago and even the webs...

Re: Bass Registers on a Roland V-Accordion

In answer to your question about the augmented chords, I could be wrong, but I don't think so. In terms of programming I think they let you choose from like 5 freebass variations, 10 drum sets, hundreds of accordion and thousands of orchestral and sound effect sounds, and the top row of bass/chord b...

Re: Can you get lessons in music tech or not really?

Matt, my apologies for temporarily taking over your post. Once I manage to shrink the photos, all should become clear. Jerry, you will soon be able to take the blindfold off. Be patient Matt, you've got something up your sleeve, I am starting to know you a bit. ;) Garth, now you have my attention t...

Re: Speakers

If one needs a stereo setup, this does it very well. I think it really shines when you play with stereo backup music or an arranger. All the various instruments are are nicely "spread" around in a 3 demension. True stereo requires 2 speakers that are far apart (6 feet or more. I prefer mo...

Re: Can you get lessons in music tech or not really?

I have an Atlantic that has electric contacts on all the 12 bass notes, each leading to a printed circuit board which contains a microphone, a number of electronic components, some form of rotary controller and a 5-pin DIN socket. Nothing electrical on the keyboard side. Without seeing it, I am har...

Re: Bass Registers on a Roland V-Accordion

Short of asking the designers, I kind of doubt that anyone here would know why, but in a way, it is not a very important point, because unlike an acoustic, we can reprogram them to be pretty much anything we want (at least we can on the 8X, which is what I own). :)

Re: Can you get lessons in music tech or not really?

Oh by the way, is the bk7m set up to "understand" the bellows expression? In other words are the patches set to interpret the bellows expression in a useful way? I can promise you that it is, but not all parts of it (ie: not the drums), just the parts that are "mapped" to the BK...
