Re: Contemporary accordion, what you think about it?

Like Paul... **way** too extreme for me. The music lost all it's value at about the 30 second mark. I am sure someone has to really like it, though. To me this is noise and instrument abuse, not music.

Re: Should I learn fingering and other techniques ?

What I am speaking about are those really good players with zero bellows controls skills and play with three fingers of one hand, no left hand skills. Without education, study or even someone to set the bar or let you know what is right and what is wrong, inherently you develop more bad habits than ...

Re: Alumium oxide...

Hi. I've read elsewhere that WD40, a substance one normally keep well away from accordions, is good for shifting white oxide. Is this what you mean by 'electrical cleaner with lubricant'? Dismantlement looks if not impossible, very tricky. It's a very nice accordion.... No, WD-40 is not quite the t...

Re: Alumium oxide...

Yes, but what I would do is not what others might. :) If they are REALLY stuck, I would take a nice cloth and cover the reeds, palette and keys underneath and then add a layer of paper towels, use painter's tape to hold it in place. Then I would use a light amount of electrical cleaner with lubrican...

Re: Tips for hand independence?

For me... 1. START SLOW. 2. Start easy, like doing scales independently on both hands, then later together both in the same "direction". 3. Mastery is the result of repetition (LOTS of it!). Take time everyday to spend 20-30 focused, uninterrupted minutes just on this, you will be surprise...

Re: Should I learn fingering and other techniques ?

There are YouTube videos of fairly impressive playing by kids that have never had a lesson in their life, never will have a lesson in their life, have super crappy technique and can manage to put out a tune. If this is all you want to do, nothing more than a basic desire to play is needed... but... ...

Re: Melodia Accordions

http://melodia-tula.com/ I think is the proper website for Melodia accordions out of Russia, still doesn't look like what the OP showed.

Re: Melodia Accordions

Just to add to the confusion... Russians make a "Melodia" too: http://www.accordions.com/tula/ I could be wrong, but "made in Italy" plates are easy to slap on. Most are never on the front for all to see too. ;) P.S. - Not that it is very important (because it really isn't), but ...

Re: MMMH

So anything with a set of 5 reeds and the appropriate couplers could do it. That would be the violin setting in particular. Yeah... I actually *like* that register/sound... no "cat strangling" there, but that is on an accordion with standard German fairly dry musette tuning. On something m...
