Re: Would you like to enter an accordion competition without leaving home?

I am sorry, but after just looking at that last reply, I did not even try to read it. I only can offer advice in the form of 2 words... "Paragraphs, dude?" I have said all that I want to about this dispicable practice. At this point, if people want to get ripped off, it is entirely in their hands. I...

Re: The New England Accordion Museum

Well, for that I have no choice, it will have to be a weekend, but the nice thing is that we have enough lead time to choose a weekend that will hopefully work for us both. :)

Re: The New England Accordion Museum

PM me and let me know when. I'll meet you there. Of course, that would be great, Jim! As soon as we have a firm date, you'll know for sure! :) Gotta watch out, an event like that and suddenly we have all kinds of people showing up... who knows, possibly I'd not be surprised to bump in to Cory Pesat...

Re: Keyboard Wear And Tear

I think that Glenn is right. That and if you have a tendancy to play with the fingernails hitting the keyboard, hitting that same keyboard harder can over a relatively short time cause gouges in the keys. Keep the fingernails short and well trimmed and this becomes a non-issue. :)

Re: The New England Accordion Museum

I had a great birthday yesterday and even a nice surprise from the NEAM... I am going back in September, but not to only enjoy it again but I am going to get the chance to photograph his accordions for a special future project that Paul has in mind. Photography and accordions are both passions in my...

Re: Tuning

You don't use a B&D anything... lol

Use metal files and scrapers. The smaller the reed, the smaller the modification needed to make a change.

Jerry, it's a place I hope to visit one day soon. I think there may be a connection between the owner and the person I know who sells and repairs accordions.
I have tentative plans to go back in September, why not make a trip here to Montreal and you could come down with me for a weekend?

Re: The New England Accordion Museum

The second building has loads of instruments that should be played, not displayed in a museum. You do mention that he sells accordions so these must be among the ones for sale I guess. Yes, all the accordions in the 2nd bullding are for sale. He also has a ton of music that I just glanced at but th...

Re: The New England Accordion Museum

I would think that his repair person be fairly close to him, I think he mentioned that there is someone in Boston that does his work. Are we talking the same person?
