Re: Bass notation

Book 2, La Varenne (page 179) is my favourite. The jump from Gm to Eb7 and back in the first two bars is tough but it mskes the piece so unique it's worth practicing. I bought this book just to get this piece. However, there are bigger jumps from E flat to A7 and from G minor to A flat! Beautiful m...

Music notation specifically for accordion

Please can anyone advise on what conventions are commonly used for sheet music written specifically or the piano accordion. Some music has the suggested registrations at the start. Some music might have the bass chords denoted by just the bass note and a capital M above for major chords and a small ...

Street music whilst on holiday

If you were to consider a place to go for holiday on the basis of being able to hear some accordion music in the streets I guess you would immediately think of Paris. Would there be any other venues where you would expect to hear some accordion music whilst dining al fresco. It might seem strange to...

A question regarding movie file formats

I recently uploaded my first video recording. The video clip was an avi file recorded on my simple point and shoot £59.99 Nikon Coolpix A10 camera. The recording was 1 min 34 secs long and took a massive 332MB of memory. My question is: what format do others use to upload to Vimeo or Youtube or what...

Re: And another "got my dream accordion"

Just posted on "I like that". I meant to post the link, not the whole thing! It's the first time I've used vimeo so I guess I've not set up correctly. Any advice welcomed.

Un P'tit Brun D'Musette

This is my first recording on my newly acquired Brandoni Super Musette 68 box. If you can overlook one or two fluffed notes I am keen to hear your comments on the sound itself. The first playing of the main tune and the second tune in the minor key are played using the three reed musette ( three hor...

Measuring your accordion's tuning

I was wondering what is the best software for this and if there is any available software for free. I would not dream of trying to tune an accordion ( despite several Youtube videos suggesting that it within the scope of the average DIYer?! ) but I would have thought that it would be possible to mea...
