Re: Stradella Bass Chord Combinations

Great video.
I've said this before but Hans Palm' s accordion page (http://www.accordionpage.com/chcomb.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) has a great section on alternative voicing s using Stradella.

Re: Contemporary accordion, what you think about it?

Maybe it's one of those pieces where you have to be there "live" to appreciate it. It did have occasional moments where the dynamics and change from discord to "no chord" were a pleasant relief.

Re: stradella bass buttons

Ben is right. Forget about higher or lower and just concentrate on the chord/bass you are needing. The design of the accordion and the coupler selection will then determine the voicing.

Re: Hello all

Hi Richard, welcome. It's not universal this antipathy to jazz. I for one am a keen fan in its many forms but indeed this forum does not appear to have a majority of jazz lovers. The harmonies and freedom when playing are pretty intoxicating, especially if you play together with others. As for punk,...

Re: Accordion and piano

I think you are right Hank (or is it Henrik?). The accordion lends itself to accompanying oneself whilst the piano requires more planning before it becomes muddy and too overpowering. I come from 50 years (don't laugh) of piano playing and am still amazed at how I can "knock out a tune" by ear with ...

Re: stradella bass buttons

I think Bosca is right. Keep it simple. Don't try to learn the whole lot at once. As a beginner concentrate on Bb, F, C, G, D, A, E, B, F#. This should give you more than enough. In fact concentrate on the cluster around C first.

Re: Southern England Chromatic Button Accordion Rally

Sounds like a great idea Tom for those close enough. Not sure I'll be in driving distance in August but I sure as hell support the idea. In fact it's an idea I was toying with myself but delayed it a year or so until I get my house in France up to scratch to hold such an event. Maybe we need a "heat...

Re: V-Accordion on an airplane

Ed,
I'd be wary of solution 2 if it's Delta Airlines as they may well drag your accordion off the plane and kick two of its keys in :)

Re: Usb Stick for Roland FR3X

That is a very huge thing to forget... lol When creating a Linux boot disk, it writes to sections of the media that identify it differently to the host. Some hosts can get past it, others, like V-Accordions, cannot. Basically, you need to reinitialize the USB stick and then format it again before i...
