Re: And now for something completely different...

Cool. I think it's brilliant what the instrument can do. The music is a bit 'up and down" for me as some bits I can really appreciate and others are a bit contrived but hey, it's live music and that's great. I'd love a Roland accordion but they are a bit pricey and you need amps etc. to go with...

Best way to share your performances

Dear Accordionists, I have a general "how do I..."question that goes like this: How do I best put my recordings on-line for others to listen to and give feedback? I already see many people use Youtube but somehow I think this is overkill unless you want see yourself (in my case not really)...

Re: Topic icons

Could the topic icons be used to somehow classify a post? Just a thought.
Then of course you will need some form of agreement what each icon represents.

Re: Breton Folk Dance

Interesting... I never thought of using the base as a drone. Must be difficult to balance the level of volume from drone to melody.
Something for me to experiment with.

Re: Any book recommendations for a beginner? (PA)

Hi Pippa,
I sat in the same position as you for the first year and bought a few (mainly German) books but the big improvement came with a teacher.
I could recommend the books she uses but to be honest I think they only work with a teacher behind you.

Hoi uit Nederland

Hi there, I've been playing the accordion for around 5 years now. I came to it from many yeas of piano and keyboard/synth playing so note reading and music theory are no big issue for me. I play piano accordion (PA) and have now three in my possession. My pride and joy is a brand new Ballone Burini ...
