Hi Fjsys; You have a bass reed that has the tongue bent to far away from the reed plate. Go to the Accordion Revival web site and find the subject "Voicing Reeds" this will explain the problem with this suborn reed. JIM D.

Hi Mike; The button that is giving you a problem is on top of a rod called a piston. These pistons have pins that will depress a connecting rod to open a valve. It sounds to me like you have a rod that has jumped a pin. A picture of your bass machine will reveal the problem. Musically yours; JIM

When I need new lettering for a custom rebuild I visit a local auto supply and pick up a Chrome lettering kit. Auto supply stores in the UK should carry similar products. JIM D.

Hi Adam; Yes duraluminum is used on quality machine made reeds and their quality is improving but the tolerances of a hand made are finer and the reed tongues are of finer steel. JIM D.
