Re: The best practice routine....?

Looking back on my earlier years, my amount of practice was nothing short of abusive. Started at 4, by the age of 5 I was doing 2-3 hours a day, 7 days a week. At the age of 16, on the weekends it was a MINIMUM of 10 hours per day and even with school, hockey and martial arts, I still had to do 20 h...

Re: Hohner Morino VIN neglect abuse, advice needed.

I wasn't sure at all, but that was exactly what I was thinking (stuck reeds), but had no idea how to free them up.

Thanks a lot, Ben, I appreciate your help! :)

Hohner Morino VIN neglect abuse, advice needed.

Hello everyone. I had stopped playing for decades and the accordion sat in a warm dry closet for, oh, it had to be 20+ years in it's case. Last night I took it out and before doing anything just gently passed air through the bellows, stretching and unsticking them. I then tried touching the register...

Re: frx-3 and frx-1 roland recording

According to the Roland FRX-3 manual on page 14: "These sockets can be connected to an amplifier, a mixing console or a wireless system. If you use both connectors, the FR-3x’s output is stereo. In that case the signals of the Treble section is transmitted to the L/MONO socket, while the R/MONO...

Re: Who's got a great midi, digital or electronic setup?

At least try them if you're shoping around you might be surprised. That is excellent advice. I cannot emphasize how important it is to "try before you buy". At the very least make sure that if you purchase something untried, that they have a return policy that does not penalize you if you...

Re: Roll Out The Barrel

Yes Brandy: there is an A B & C part to the tune. We play it as a polka and comical piece - as when we are asked for a classical tune we do just the same as this -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XGZKwPRmkU Although most think this tune is German I've been told to this day that the tune origi...

Is my sight reading that bad or is there still a part missing there? Isn'there a bit of a bass line that leads right back to the start of the song? :)

Re: Who's got a great midi, digital or electronic setup?

As far back as I can remember, Roland amps were always considered not terribly expensive, but 90% as good as the best on the market. Back in 1975 I picked up a Roland JC-120, it served me well for a long time until I went midi. Man, some of the stories I could share during my band years with his amp...

Re: New member from Montreal, Qc, Canada

I just posted a few pics of the setup in the MIDI accordion section, but here are 2 songs that give you an idea of what it sounds like: HERE IS ONE MP3 FILE recorded decades ago on the Yamaha multitrack recorder using the Elkavox and the Solton programmer 24 and HERE IS ONE MP3 FILE with the KetronX...
