Fr-3x break on or off

Post by Mr turtle » Mon Jan 23, 2017 6:11 pm

While glancing through the manual of my fr-3x
A few days ago I came across a setting to turn the top row of bass buttons into switches for controlling various different functions such ad pitch bend, rotary speed modulation etc.

Two of the buttons control break on, and break off,
Does anyone have a clue as to what that means as I just don't have any idea.

I like the idea of being able to control the rotary effect in such a way but having tried the pitch bend which seems to be set permanently to a whole tone up or down and the modulation, I really cannot see any use for those functions, as to use them while playing anything with the left hand ie bass or chords is virtually impossible.

I wonder if it means drum fills?

Mitch, that's a great idea, but since there is no way of changing the (tx) channel and not all arrangers/drum machines use the same (rx) channels for control codes this would not be very practical.

I suppose I could midi the accordion to my laptop or my technics arranger and see what (cc) numbers if any it transmits, I just wish Roland would learn how to produce a better manual.
