New guy from Oklahoma

New guy from Oklahoma

Postby Minispdrcr » Thu Feb 16, 2017 1:02 pm

Well hello there, thought I would introduce myself. My name is Marcin and just picked up a Giulietti MF94. I live in Oklahoma City, OK in the US. Not the best place to find accordions, I must say. But this one turned out to be around 20 min from my house. I am looking to learning to play as my grandfather back in Poland did.

Hi Marcin, welcome to the forum. How's the Giulietti sounding? Hope you'll enjoy playing the accordion as much as everyone here does!
Cheers

Tom,
Thank you for the welcome :) I am sure it would sound a ton better in someone with experience lol, but that is why I am here to learn :)

$80? If you didn't miss a zero off, I think you'll find it's a great place to find accordions, then... lovely looking box. I assume its 4 voice from the registers but master only on palm switch?

A few will have something to say about how big a bargain that is.. always depending on condition of course.

Most importantly, very warm welcome.

Yes $80.00. It was to heavy for her to pick up and I was the first to contact her to purchase. SHe actually got two calls on it while I was there. Yes, master is the palm switch. (Have been playing around with it) No musty smells, everything moves well, recently replaced bellows. Straps are totally shot and it does need a case.

Its just dirty dirty dirty

Did you know there's an active accordion club in OKC? They meet over near Lake Heffner:

I keep meaning to drop into one of their meetings one of these days (I have family that I visit in the Shawnee area now and then).

Hello Marcin,

A very warm welcome to the forum.

I don't know whether it was luck or judgement, but you have picked up an absolute bargain there.

Please keep us informed of your progress.

Kind Regards,

Stephen.

Stephen. I would like to think it was a bit of both lol. Saw it on cl, name was misspelled and i was the first to contact. Lots of people were calling when i was there picking it up.

Also. What's the best and safest way to clean. Can i used a can of air to get rid of some dust or is that not advised.
