Finally found an instrument NAD

Post by cat » Tue May 09, 2017 8:59 pm

I've been seeking one (small Italian) for several years. I love the sound and feel of my Pancordian, but I can barely play it sitting, much less standing - the bass side is just too heavy for me. I'm used to the agility of diatonic button accordians, and found playing a 72-bass PA was the way to go (but not the sound of my Arietta). I'd been making do with a little 32-bass Paolo S as I've been searching. Well I'm always a day late and a dollar short for those nice small Italian boxes, so I got a small jr size 120 bass GEM - seems like the same size keyboard as my other smalls, and of course much lighter than my big heavy. Yay :D

Found a pic online - looks identical - https://reverb.com/au/item/2028756-gem- ... earl-white" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

*Ah, I see this ad lists the box from my area - so this must be my very one

Thank you. I'm really enjoying it. I traded my Arietta in for it, so as not to acquire more instruments (already have 'too many').

Congratulations on your new box. As an aside, do you know who makes the "Gem" ?

I've heard - Ferrari. It bears a "Made by..." impression (there's a good photo of it in the above link), but I'm not sure what it says ("Jam - erri"?)

I am guessing here and Im sure others will know better than I do, but looks similar to a Morbidoni made accordion. That's my guess, and they are very well made, good accordions.

I can't make it out... but the 'J' you say, I think looks like a G clef with the top slightly concealed by the other print.
So here's your starter, G...

:) Yes I have no idea what to make of the label. I assumed you all would know off your cuff - with all the erudite members here. Well it's a nice responsive little accordian and very easy to play standing.
