Re: What’s on YOUR Accordion case?

Hi Stephen. Yes, it could come crashing down in a blaze of sounds, perhaps setting yourself up for some sort of award on one of those stupid music award shows.

Re: Which are The Great Acoustic Piano Accordions?

That's a beautiful accordion but is tuned a bit wet for my tastes. Its also 12 kg, way to heavy for us middle aged, 71 year olds with back problems, to handle.

I suggest calling Liberty Bellows and talking with one of their CSR's. Every time I've called them, they've been really helpful.

Re: NEW vs. USED

Here’s the owner’s reply: When you have actual accordion related questions let me know and I will be glad to help. In other words, “We don’t need your business.” Okay. You won’t have it. Wow, what a horrible response. He actually puts food in that mouth? Living in Montana does present problems in a...

Perhaps, Stephen, the only thing holding your friends old cases together are the stickers.

Recording a Accordion

Been trying to record s few tunes lately using just my computer's built in microphone. Result is ,well, crappy Don't have a studio setting so it's just in my, what turns out to be a very noisy, room at home. Any suggestions? Perhaps a Dynamic USB microphone that won't pick up side noises

Mine has a sign that says "D'LUCA". Of course that's the manufacturer of the case.

Re: Weltmeister Rubin

I think key width is a personal matter. It depends mostly on your hands. I have large hands but short fingers and can't span an octive with 20 mm keys but do so easily with 18 mm ones. Don't get bullied into this "ladies size " nonsense. The only thing that makes an accordion a "ladies" is that a la...

Re: Useful practice alternative?

I don't understand what would be wrong with a small real accordion like a Weltmeister Perle, Rubin or Juwel or a Hohner Pokerwork or even a Roland FR 1x. Is practicing on something that isn't an accordion really practicing an accordion?

You might try http://www.zisman.ca/squeezebox/Homework.html or http://www.donquattrocchi.com/sheetmusic.html#

Didn't know Autumn Leaves was a jazz standard though. Thought its a French love gone bad song.

Re: Heavy Accordion

Got a couple of years on you. I'm 71, today actually, and am finding my 20 pound, 9.072 kg, accordion getting to be a bit heavy for me even though its considered a lightweight, ladies model (actually hate that term for I think that the only thing that makes things ,"ladies model" is that a lady owns...

Accordion Color

Anyanka, in another thread (Tone Perception), commented that the accordion he plays in public is red (and LOUD) and that got me wondering if an accordions' color makes any difference, perceived or real, to the listening public? Is a red one more accordion than say a black or green one? Am interested...

Re: Where can I get a back pad/ bellows protector?

side question: what brand/type shoulder straps are those? Side answer: Neotech Accordion Harness. I like the "deluxe" version because of its back strap that can be positioned up/down. All of my accordions have Neotech harnesses now. Side answer #2: I also have and like these straps,, however I use ...

When I get nervous and start trembling in public, I just call it bellows shake and say it was intentional.

Hi Morne,

Loving your thinking. I think accordionists need an asylum of their very own.
