The Forum Is Changing
Hi folks. Shortly this forum will be migrating to different software and, in addition, we will also have a new website address. To migrate all the posts, users, etc. will take a little time so there will be some downtime on the forum while this is done. I am trying to do this sooner rather than later so it may not be possible to give you prior notice of the downtime.
Once migrated to our new address, visitors to www.accordionists.co.uk will be automatically redirected to the new website address.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused, but the change to the software has now become really necessary.

Re: Multitrack WAV Live recording

I recently purchased A QSC Touchmix 8 mixer. Tried out the multitrack Built in recorder on this unit. It successfully recorded each channel, Channel 1 - Vocals, Channel 2 - Accordion, Channel 3 - BK-7m. It saved it to USB thumb drive. I brought the drive home and imported the file in my DAW. Great ...

Re: Travelling with the 8X on a plane

A 4X on that small plane? No I doubt it. My laptop bag just barely fit and it's smaller than a 4X. I think I will stay local...! Phoenix, probably no trouble getting anywhere direct on a larger plane. The only other alternative is to get a direct flight to a major airport, drive 3-4 hours to destin...

Re: Travelling with the 8X on a plane

Informative. I did carry on my fr7 once but in a plane that it fit in overhead as you said...not sure if 4x would fit on that first leg, small plane?

Midi TX message bug fixes, interesting? Does this effect those whom use this accordion as a MIDI controller?

Re: New Roland V accordion coming............

A change that is 100% negated if you use external amplification or recording equipment. On my live stage shows (unless strolling), I never use accordion speakers. I can hear the mix better with the vocals and arranger blend. It is a little weird when I stroll out wireless when nothing comes out of ...

Re: New Roland V accordion coming............

I did have a problem with the power connection pull out while playing unknowingly. I secured it as pictured.

Re: Bugari Evo; The Looks & the Brain

I would like to see the aftertouch demo with palm switch. Is it as effective or easy to apply as on a key depression? It's different. Palm switch is easier to use than key aftertouch, but it applies to all keys, not individually. To me, One of the most important feel for aftertouch is with the bara...

Re: Bugari Evo; The Looks & the Brain

If you go to a Bugari EVO, you lose velocity-sensitivity. The organ, orchestral, and left-hand sounds will still work, but changing their volume via touch has been ruled out. Alan Sharkis That's not quite correct, the Bugari EVO do have velocity. What not present is aftertouch on piano models: it's...

Re: Bugari Evo; The Looks & the Brain

I hear about bellows motors? I would be curious what that looked like.? Sounds complicated electro/mechanics? Why was that thought of first over the acoustic keyboard layout. Is his only in 8x? What about 4x? The motor imitates the acoustic bellows behavior making bellows move faster when more keys...

Re: Bugari Evo; The Looks & the Brain

I though there were rubber contacts below the keys. After touch on a keyboard is accomplished by two sets of contacts under each key, slightly offset. I am not in position to take apart my 4x but had a problem with a note on my Korg. Was able to see the contacts...

Re: Bugari Evo; The Looks & the Brain

What is "bellows more of an acoustic"? I would not know the difference? Bugari removed the bellows motor and changed the keyboard: instead of a standard MIDI keyboard they used their acoustic accordion keyboard with levers&pallets which are opening holes; therefore bellows work just like in acousti...

Re: Bugari Evo; The Looks & the Brain

The looks are impressive. But if you are going in the price range of this accordion or fr8x, why not shop comparison with a good reed accordion first? Probably the argument is about less maintenance? The Limex has some interesting features to add to a good acoustic? I like comparing these digital so...

Re: Roland BKM7 expander

This is an opinion discussion. For me, I think the Bk-7m is more of an arranger backing module then just a sound module. Having to touch your dials on the accordion, then make the proper instrument choice on expander, could be tedious. If you get any expander, make sure it excepts midi control progr...

Re: Drum Machines

The Bk can be used as a drum machine with the “track mute” button. If you hold it you can select which tracks to mute then save it in Global. A very useful setting if for some reason your midi connection fails when using it as an arranger. Just turn on track mute! If just a drum machine, The Beat Bu...

Re: FR-8x MIDI capabilities

Larry what I was trying to say is that when midi connections between a computer and the 4X are made via the USB connection it will MIDI IN and MIDI OUT at the same time … which is what is necessary for sequencing … (see page 13 in the 4X manual and page 17 in the BK-7m manual) Ok, I understand. I j...

Re: FR-8x MIDI capabilities

My problem with Bandlab and Cakewalk is that a Cakewalk account is required for login and downloading …. and I do not have an account … and with this recent change they have stopped issuing new accounts. One more thing that may interest you Larry and Ernesto. I have been concerned that since the FR...

Larry, Yes, the instrument definition file serves as the communication link between sequencing software and a midi instrument … and provides access to the specific sounds inside the instrument as requested by the software while creating multi-track recordings …. each midi instrument will have its o...

Re: FR-8x MIDI capabilities

Thank you, Don, for your response. I have also worked for several years in that way, processing with Cakewalk the MIDI files of my arrangements generated in Finale. I have used, and I continue to use, as an audio source an old Roland JV30 synthesizer. The desire to use the FR-8x as a source aims to...
