Re: FR-8x MIDI capabilities

Is it possible to use its orchestral sounds to play multi-track MIDI files? Not clear what you are asking? But if you want a pc sequence to use the orchestra sounds on accordion as a multitrack song, I would think not possible because the accordion does not have midi sequencer built in. I would thi...

Re: Roland Aftermarket Products

TN438 Tenergy charger has a refresh which may take up to 24 hours. Not sure why this is needed periodically, but it fixes the problem if the battery fails to charge? What refresh does is discharges it completely, then charges. One uses this on older batteries to try to condition them to hold a char...

Re: Roland Aftermarket Products

It is what you are accustomed to. I have 3 items which I need batteries. Fr4x, Midi jet and Shure wireless mic. 14 batteries at one gig. I have been using the energizer 2300 mah rechargeable for 17 months. 100’s of charges. I for a while would recharge them after every gig. Probably, not necessary. ...

Re: Roland Aftermarket Products

What is the voltage of the lithium battery compared to, for example a nimh AA rechargeable? Which is used in the 4x which is 1.2 Volts. I am not a fan of those Amazon low cost batteries. I did have an issue with slight battery length difference of those type of imported batteries. They were AAA usin...

Hungarian Music

i am working in an German/Hungarian Restaurant. I got much of the popular German Music down pat, but looking at expanding with Hungarian music. More on the basic polka and waltz and 4/4 time. What do accordion players play at typical dances for Hungarian Music?

That has a bit of a disco beat to it... makes me want to get up, find a pretty fräulein to dance with! :) I just learned that this song was actually from a Yiddish song "Bei Mir Bistu Shein" or "To me you are beautiful"... cool! The angle was interesting too... at a live gig and using your smartpho...

Re: Roland Pipe Line

A smaller accordion may be in my next investment plans. Here in Phoenix no place to try one... And you have hit on the crux of the problem, at least for here in the USA. It seems that in Europe, accordion stores with a nice selection of units to hold, are more plentiful than here where we must trav...

Re: Battery amplifiers for outdoor use with accordions

Something interesting to look at. I got this info from the manufacture. I have seen a concert accordion player friend of mine use this model. Something to try if you found one locally. I think these have tubes? “Wangs #1987HW is great for Blues Harp and Accordion players ...it has warm and cold chan...

Re: Roland Pipe Line

Hi Larry I have to keep it simple for I'm a simple person. Been torn between the FR1 X, and the Weltmeister Juwel however I've been looking at some videos on the FRx 1B and it seems to be more versatile. The 28 keys of the FR1 X seem to be quite limiting while the FR1 B has the range more like the ...

Re: Roland Pipe Line

Have a FR4x, love Its’ portability. Played the FR7 for years and never regretted it. But time to be more compact. Yes a replacement may be in the far horizon. But if you feel like upgrading, go for it. You will not regret. I even may consider an FR1x as a second accordion. Would be a novelty to put...

Re: FR-8x sound Grand Piano Sound

Original poster here! Love that i got a good discussiong going on here . I want to add that i have a sustain pedal FC-300 with my FR-8x. I have tried adjusting attack and release. Im happy with the piano sounds when playing, for example, rock'n'roll piano where the touch is 'quick'. Actually, ...

Re: FR-8x sound Grand Piano Sound

It is strange(maybe just me), but when using the accordion as a controller for bk-7m piano sound, it is quite an improvement? Yes and no. In most ways the sounds are very close if not identical because the 8X came out after the BK-7m and uses many of the same patches. Now there are a few that are d...

Re: FR-8x sound Grand Piano Sound

I think this post appears to be others seeking advice on how to create a great piano sound. I know you have to go into the parameters of a certain piano sound. There is several settings that will enhance the sound. Touch, release, etc. Has anybody done this? I have and it does improve the sound. I w...
