Re: What's with all the hats?

Hats to fit the theme of the party is what I have. Italian, French, Oktoberfest(own a Lederhosen). It is show business and first impressions with costuming is important. Grab a hat and start gigging. :b

Re: FR4x feedback

I have owned my fr4x for 8 months now. I would like to start your feedback on this model. Here is mine: 1. Portability light weight - I like the fact I can stroll and the smaller size gives some nice bellows action. 2. Battery life - used up to 4 hour gigs. Holds charge. Always have a second batter...

Re: FR4x feedback

Have you looked at the Richard Noel sets? I can say without doubt that they totally changed my 8X, to the way I feel it should have come from the factory, it is eye opening. :) I do know that many 4X people say that one of the best things they did to improve the sound was to play with the EQ settin...

Re: Accordion Gig Bags

I purchased my Roland Fr4x bag from Liberty Bellows in Philadelphia, PA. They stock a bag which is made by the same company Roland uses. Heavy duty.

Re: 4x Editor

It's true that Roland still has some work to do when it comes to their sound editor, but then again, there is a lot of space left to grow in pretty much everything they offer. I can see the reasoning behind why, though... it's not logical to make changes and not be able to hear them, so the accordi...

Re: 4x Editother

Needs to connect to the accordion. Interesting about 1x editor, which I know nothing about? I always ask Roland support if I have question. They always respond quickly. I am not a big fan of always connecting to the accordion. Sometimes when connected and I change to another register to program, it ...

Re: ? Elka & Cordovox ?

Dale M. and I had discussion on this too. We came from the same era of the older Cordovox in Wisconsin. I remember driving to the Lowrey plant in Chicago to change out the power amp in the first transistorized model. It was one box with wheels (can not remember the model). The little transitorized t...

Re: A little more Christmas spirit!

Hey friends! It's like 8:00AM on Dec 25th and I am already running late, but I just wanted to share this with you all on this special day... a few Christmas songs that I recorded like decades ago (remember my post on the old 4-track tapes that I brought back from the dead? Yeah, well, I kinda held ...

I plan to retire in 2018 so I’m loath to commit myself to any one resolution as I hope to be so flexible that I’m able to do anything on a whim (if my wife agrees).

Re: Cordovox Sound?

Iorios were Elka boxes with Iorio nameplates slapped on top. I was the proud owner of one of those. It's the other way around... Iorio was around many decades before Elka even existed. The first ones out were the Iorios. Elkavox was really the people that made the "electronics" section and later th...

Re: Happy Christmas 2017...

This forum is a lifesaver for me. I felt alone in South Florida without many accordion players around.
Yes, I believe the accordion is making a comeback! Just by the reaction of my many audiences.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Re: Back at the Old Heidelberg...

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at The Old Heidelberg. They have over 200 guests reserved for tonight! Playing all Christmas music, maybe set my accordion down and play the Korg? I am so grateful to have a place like this to play. The owners are wonderful and sometimes provide me with a nice German ...

Re: Cordovox Sound

I miss that analog sound on the Cordovox. In those days we did not need to worry about editing.
Cordovox had a fat sound. Even the bass boomed. I played in a jazz and pop trio in the early 70s with Cordovox.
40+ years later we are trying to duplicate the sound?

Re: Accordion New Year Resolutions

Sell a few ones (mostly C system, but one Club Morino in CF). Maybe acquire the necessary tools for tuning jobs so that I can keep a few ones in playable shape longer. Get one heck of a lot better. I need to get my singing voice up to par again, too. I think Vocals is a big part of being a successf...

Re: Accordion New Year Resolutions

I would be pleased to be able to simply play on a regular basis, however, I have two projects that I have been unable to start that I am going to commit to in 2018. One is to finally create that musical tribute video to my father and the second is to start an educational video series for the Roland...
