Re: Les bicyclettes de Belsize

That's very interesting Jazz because on another thread ( https://www.accordionists.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7132 ) it was thought that my Brandoni was badly out of tune and a similar exercise ( using Dirk's tuner for measurement ) on the Hohner shows that it, the Hohner, is not very far out! It sh...

Re: Les bicyclettes de Belsize

the Brandoni is loads better (not that hard as the other seems to be a vintage, slightly out of tune instrument)

Re: Do new accordions improve with playing?

Difficult to answer, there are so many variables here and nobody actually will A and B two new instruments over a long period. Some people will tell you this others tell you that.. A guy I know with a 35+ years career as a pro and countless play testing hours on different accordions tells me, yes yo...

Re: Unknown family accordeon

interesting

can you find an identical model picture somehwere online? the difference between 30's or late 70's should be easily spotted

you can try to open the casing (seperate the halves from the bellows) and look for details inside on the wood, they sometimes mark it with year/date and such

I have not been able to find pricing on the app at all. Where should I look?
In the store it says 1.09 - 2.09 euro optional and in the comments there is talk about it being per month

so I wouldn't bother with this app anymore, they are clearly pushing it away with this

This looks within spec.

I wouldn't touch them (if the instrument plays normally)

Re: Do you like your accordion(s)?

I have a practical view on that. I'd say you buy the vintage one for emotional reasons (you like it first) and you buy the modern one for practical reasons (you need it first). Unless you take the vintage one and give it a complete overhaul. But in essence: you never know when a part of the vintage ...

Regarding where all the notes are, funny story:

When I started out a couple of months ago with some simple tabs for C/F I was convinced something was off...

After 1 month in I became aware I had "Club" layout.
