Re: Meditation on FR4x

on the road the portable recorders (tascam, zoom) can multitrack as well with batteries no power cord, most have a couple XLR/combi TRS inputs which you can split later into mono tracks so with 2 inputs you have 4 tracks

then later mix on your laptop (again no touchmix needed)

Re: Meditation on FR4x

It appears we need to simplify and dig in our pockets. Spend the $900+ and get the QSC Touchmix or similar. Forget the PC. Record on external hard drive, do the mix on the QSC and recorded it to a stereo Channel on you favorite DAW. Something I am seriously thinking about? Unless you want to record...

Re: Best instrument to play folk music?

a couple of things to consider maybe: - simple folk tunes don't need a large instrument so I would say 72 bass (or even smaller, but it's a trade off between portability and available basses), but that's my personal preference, I play standing up a lot and the small size helps - by straight tuned yo...

Re: left hand accuracy

yes you are not alone

I have one piece with E7 - F - E7

I often omit some of the chord basses in between because I just can't be bothered

the more common 3-jumps I hit 95%, the thing is once I do a period of stuff that doesn't have jumps my technique gets stale

Re: I love to sing

this song (played frequently around closing time) should be yelled out loud with a bunch of social misfits that gather at the pub every evening

Re: left hand accuracy

well every song or piece of music has it's own 'natural' moments where the changes should come, and they should never come during a jump...changes should come in between the notes or phrases; this is also dependant on how much air your accordion uses, so if it uses a lot of air, it's more difficult ...

Re: Meditation on FR4x

for what it's worth

I think the mix is okay as a whole it is clean and pleasant

but if the aim was to let the accordion shine, then you have to give it some presence (level it up, not much)

Re: left hand accuracy

I don't know iif you neglected playing posture or bellows direction changes are done randomly instead of always at the same spots, that can be a cause of problems as your left hand is not always in the same position before each jump. makes practice less effective so always create the exact same posi...

It is a trick of the mind? think you nailed it Like when you're in the car driving, but only afterwards you notice that you haven't been paying attention up until then...or was it a trick and you actually were paying attention all the time... When I perform, I play everything by heart and I sometime...
