Re: FR4x feedback

I have owned my fr4x for 8 months now. I would like to start your feedback on this model. Here is mine: 1. Portability light weight - I like the fact I can stroll and the smaller size gives some nice bellows action. 2. Battery life - used up to 4 hour gigs. Holds charge. Always have a second batter...

Re: Akai EWI4000S?

No personal experience, but just sharing my thoughts. If you are branching out in your musical endeavors, and you found a used one for a half price, it looks a fun project to embark on. As complete as an accordion is, there is still always room for improvement, right? The only thing is, you can't pl...

Re: Wireless MIDI

Reference manual page 85 Bellows Tx - Low, Normal(Default), High, Super. I think I have been using Normal to High both on my 4x and 7x.

Re: Wireless MIDI

I do not own a Midibeam myself, but as you mentioned you may want to try out different bellowing settings. I have never been able to choke my mi.1 from my 7x. The 7x sends aftertouch, too. I don't know if this is the case, but my friend and I have had enough trouble with midi cables that we both bou...

Re: Sound List for Musictech Music Maker

Greetings from Down Under. Wondered if you had any success sourcing Musictech sound list. I have a Musictech and an aging Orlavox. The Orlavox sound banks seem to match the Musictech but not all the sounds are available. Contact me if you want to discuss this. Cheers McSqueeze - admin@johnandprimro...

Re: Sound List for Musictech Music Maker

Hi Folks for information on Musictech ,I would advise you to contact the Italian Manufacturer google search and send an email to Claudio Sabattini . they are a first class company . Re: Wireless MIDI

Keymn,

Wireless midi for your FR7? Are you using the pigtail by Roland?

What is your bellows expression setting in midi out? If you keep experiencing hanging notes, I will change the setting to see if it helps.

Re: Wireless MIDI

Looks very nice! A great job. Looks like you can almost take the accordion in and out of the case with the midi connector in? Keymn, have you read read http://pandamidi.com/faq/? Some great tips there. I think you ran into interference. They say to pair the Midibeam the last when you operate other w...

Re: digital accordion brands

It is true about the known issues; screen and hanging notes. Some cases are worse than others. Our local technician did a number of different things for the hanging note issue. My point was that the issue was dealt with locally when it comes to the V accordions whereas if you have problems with othe...

Re: digital accordion brands

Most arrangers, midi accordions could be a nightmare to work on. Like changing the audio connector board on my fr7. So many boards and connectors to remove to get at it. The last thing I want is electrical failure on my Korg or VAccordion. Who would fix it? Chain music store? Like buying a car, cou...

Re: Digital and Midi - not accordion web sites

Mike, you mentioned quite a few large topics. As you know, there is a sea of info out there. You can be easily drowned in it. If you narrow it down to exactly what you are trying to accomplish, maybe it will be easier for others to share with you what they know.

Re: digital accordion brands

I've seen a number of Concertos, and the one that my friend had didn't have a good acoustic box. In fact, it was much less than mediocre. It didn't matter to him because he never worked the bellows! No reed sound.... One of my midi accordion technicians had an opportunity to buy a used Concerto for ...

Re: digital accordion brands

I heard someone say that a digital accordion like Roland is indeed cheap in comparison with a high end acoustic accordion when considering the fact the digital accordion has many instrument sounds such as the violin, trumpet, and so forth. I do not buy that at all. A very inexpensive keyboard workst...

Re: Wireless MIDI

Right on. For the same reasons you mentioned I didn’t have a wireless system installed in my V accordions. However, it is good that the midiBeam being very small and affordable one can go either way. Jerry, on their website it says the range is over “Range: 250+ meters open air.” I learned a few thi...

Re: Wireless MIDI

Fantastic! Thanks for your detailed report. So the midiBeam is a performer. I even like the name of it. Beam your MIDI through the air! Seriously, I like its small form factor, which makes it easy to to be readily attached to the accordion. I just don’t like wires hanging around my body when I play....

Re: Wireless MIDI

It is good to hear that the Hungarian Panda works good for you. That's a neat looking gadget. I figured that you would not have any issue with latency judging from the info I got from them when they first came out with it. I also asked them about the connector angle. If I remember it correctly, they...

Re: Waiting for an OS Update for the FR4x

Some MIDI settings are global, but you can assign a different PC message in each register. The way I look at it; I want my registers in any midi accordion completely free from any particular sounds so that I can combine different sounds on the fly. This setup would require a midi foot controller to ...

Re: Waiting for an OS Update for the FR4x

I checked out 171-(A)BLK Vln just now. My, it is an awful sound, isn't it? You are right that the touch setting is grayed out. I understand it is the violin which doesn't need touch, but other guitar-like instruments do no have touch, either as you mentioned. Some others in the Balkan expansion do, ...

Re: Waiting for an OS Update for the FR4x

I care! I just wasn't using the treble side midi transmit on my 4x. Somewhat Satisfied with the orchestra sounds. I will let you know my results. I wonder why some of the newer bank of sounds have the touch on the editor grayed out as fixed low? Example 171-(A)BLK Vln? I would suspect that those ar...

Re: Waiting for an OS Update for the FR4x

Jerry, I pointed this out early on on other forum, too, but nobody seemed to care about it. Maybe many play the 4x just as a standalone. I'd like to agree with you that Roland will release a new OS in the end. I think one of the main reasons Roland came out with the 8x PC editor was because of all t...
