Re: some music from me

Interesting Jerry.
I’ve always intuitively thought it was an issue of bellows sensitivity.
I’ll try a low sensitivity and see if I get a more accurate bellows shake.
To be honest, I’m not much good at it with my acoustics so I’m not too hopeful 😉

Re: some music from me

Very nice playing and a very jolly piece of music.
You managed a bellows shake with the Roland which is not so easy unless you make the bellows sensitivity high (which it looks as if you have done).

Good luck with the pen drive.

Shepard tone illusion

Just spotted this (rambling) video on Reddit about the Shepard tone illusion with the accordion bass (Stradella). It’s an interesting subject and one which we all subconsciously make use of when playing and arranging. Do any of you notice how the registers you select in the bass effect how you perce...

Re: some music from me

It doesn’t make normal sense that a USB pen drive won’t work with your Roland. I have tried all sorts in mine and it works fine. Can you save anything via usb? If not I fear there is an issue with your accordion.

Re: What did you play before the accordion?

I started piano at around 8 years old. Still play regularly. It’s an amazing instrument that has given me huge pleasure and allowed me to take part in lots of musical events, groups etc.

That’s an interesting one to play with. I wonder if it can create a bass line in the future. Maybe extend to other styles.

Orchestra tone #03 is called “classic piano”. Is this “grand piano” enough?

Re: accordions on planes...

It is a real shame that you cannot trust baggage handlers to look after a musical instrument. I’m not sure it’s an intelligence issue though as those poor guys have to work with the tools provided and achieve a productivity higher than the tools are designed for. The way of the world I’m afraid.

Re: FR-8x: Sets, WA Set, User Programs ...

I guess some nice person will have to write a routine that calls “one by one” each user program and assemble a listing in a printable format. Any takers?

Thanks Eddy.
When you say you “hate them” do you mean the recording or the mp3 format in general?

I start piano lessons at 10 with Miss Mills. A lovely lady. Long gone now I guess but was only always encouraging. Maybe she saw my amazing but unfortunately latent talent [emoji4]

The Roland site where the OS upgrade file is downloaded has an instruction set. One of the steps mentions how to see the OS version.

I love that song. Beautifully played Piotr.
My wife just overheard me playing the video and said “that’s a nice tune. Why don’t you play that one?”
So now I’ve got my work cut out. :D

Piotr, where did you source your Frank Marocco arrangements?

Re: String section in a box

Thanks Eddie. Can hear them loud and clear with your YT links. Lovely songs and great recordings. The Bugari does indeed blend very nicely with the vocals and is well placed and subtle in the mix. Must have been fun to do. What sort of setup are you using in your home studio? Pe4haps you could post ...

Re: Italian musette from Carlo Venturi

I guess if you are not using the left hand for bass notes you can hover over the air bleed button and shunt the bellows closed as a when it suits you. It does look rather odd on an accordion (more like a bandonion player) and am sure it’s not the done thing in “classical” circles. Maybe it helps whe...
