Re: Age - Aches & pains...

Thanks Guys (inc Heidi)for the suggestions, appreciated. I'll hear what the debrief with the Doc comes up with (mid May) before deciding what's next. I'm nearing the end of a property renovation project that I'm taking my time on, so I'm happy to have an excuse to rest from practicing at the moment ...

Re: Age - Aches & pains...

Ok Here's another update. I finally had the MRI after a foul up with the earlier appointment, prizes go to the posters who predicted neck vertebrae problems/cervical osteoarthritis. Here's what it says: "Prominent cervical spondylotic change: Diffuse disc osteophyte bar at C5/6 is noted which indent...

Re: Chinese Manufactured Accordion Model List

Maybe slightly different to the usual, Jim, as it appears E Soprani in Italy have introduced a range of openly stated Chinese manufactured accordions, called 'Circus' here in the UK. Here is a respected dealers advert and demo video: http://www.theaccordionshop.co.uk/accordions/e-soprani-circus-96-b...

Re: Looking for piano accordion tutor books

Hi Luna, and welcome. You don't say what level you were at, so some of the stuff may be basic for you. .. still, for any readers: You can obtain Palmer Hughes books off Amazon - no problem, often at bargain prices here in the UK. I have up to book 6 (or maybe 7 - memory). You can find demos of much ...

Re: A Paolo Soprani or not?

Not like any PS I've seen - but that don't make it a ringer. It could be a PS with a broken grill that someone found a Hohner fitted nicely and added auto letters maybe from Halfords... still a PS. Are the reeds marked in any way? Anyway it's of an age (1940s) where who cares as long as it plays nic...

Hi Percy... Welcome on board - Have you played any other instrument? Can you already read music?
If not, still good to start - great for keeping the brain cells in good fettle.

Re: Konig & Meyer Accordion Stand or similar

It's not that it won't hold it firmly, it will. But it is very top heavy when you have a big accordion in it and the physics say it wouldn't be too difficult to knock it over, especially if there's tripping hazards like cable and mic stands etc. It's great for home use where it can be either left as...
