Back at the Old Heidelberg...

...Fort Lauderdale German Restaurant supports us live musicians, but you must be accordion player. I enjoy this gig along with three others whom perform there. We each doThursday thru Sunday rotating weeks. Even though a German Restaurant, the manager likes us do some music variety, but stick to the theme. One accordionist goes off on a tangent, Performing a Lady GaGa Song, “A Fine Romance”. Believe it or not, much talked about.
Before us another accordionist performed there nightly, 30+ years. Performed there till in his late 80’s. At the end, had to use an accordion stand. He knew all those good German Songs and sang them well.

Do they permit "guest" accordionists to appear?

I would allow guest, but stage is small. Maybe out front stroll?
I am leaving Fort Lauderdale in January. They are looking for someone to fill my shoes.
Relocating to Phoenix. Been getting good results in the Phoenix area. Seems they too have a shortage of accordion players?
Already booked a Country Club and Senior Living Center. :b

I would love to jam with him. We came from the old school of hard knocks of accordion playing. Those good ole Wisconsin days’.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at The Old Heidelberg. They have over 200 guests reserved for tonight! Playing all Christmas music, maybe set my accordion down and play the Korg? I am so grateful to have a place like this to play. The owners are wonderful and sometimes provide me with a nice German dinner after the gig.
This is my last public performance in South Florida. Been here 20 years. After New Years gig, heading For Scottsdale, Arizona...a new challenge in the music business.

Hope that goes really well, a good time had by all, including yourself!
Best of luck with the relocation, hope it's a good move for you.

Looking for that Old Heidelberg type of restaurant here in Scottsdale, Phoenix. Heidelberg, one of the best clients ever, never told me what to do. They had accordion player music for over 35 years, 4-5 nights a week. They still need another accordion player to rotate weeks.
The Pompano Beach, Florida Oktoberfest needs accordion front-man, end of September. Getting calls from Florida constantly. They need accordion players!
Working on more pop and country styles too, which may be one of my directions? Too early to figure it out. Although, glad to be here. Weather has been perfect so far, until the 100’s in the summer. I will never look back, here to stay!
