Just returned from the Seacroft Festival, had the best time ever, LARS EK from Sweden was the star guest and he is a unique and interesting accordionist. If you didn't go, you missed a real treat. Heather Smith is a very experienced accordion festival organiser and over the years has invited many great accordionists to perform at her festivals. Since the days when Malcolm Gee organised his accordion festivals at Caister, she is now the only one who obviously spends a lot of money getting these big names to perform in the UK. Who saw ART VAN DAMME when she booked him to play at Caister in 2006? It's a pity more people don't appreciate just what she does. As far as she's concerned it's not a money making game, but just hopes to cover expenses by presenting world class accordionists for us all to enjoy and appreciate. I have already booked for the two events next year.
