Christmas wishes from Holland

Post by jozz » Wed Dec 13, 2017 9:31 am

Okay, we had some snow and some time off (doesn't happen very often at the same time), so we made our annual christmas wish for friends and family over the weekend.

Maybe you can appreciate it too, although it's in Dutch :P the lyrics are about christmas dinner, drinking, getting chinese takeout in the end...etc.

The instruments are:
- acoustic bass guitar with pickup
- Yamaha YDP-141: concert piano, strings, elec. piano, clavecimbel
- ukelele
- my Hohner Concerto IIIn with musictech pickups
- a tiny bit of the Hohner Preciosa "Juwel"
- Epiphone Wildkat

Recording equipment:
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i4
- Sennheiser MD21-u
- software: Audacity
- effects: compression, reverb, normalizer

It's nice and cheesy, enjoy... :b

Wow! That's very very impressive. Your other half has a fine singing voice!

And the only bit of the lyrics that I got clearly was about Jägermeister.

Well done! I not only enjoyed the music but how the story was shared and put together... Excellent!

We also got snow in Montreal, unlike your location where it was beautiful, the snow here just made things worse. It caused the public transit system to be overloaded, late and then by the time I got home (2 hours later than normal), I had to spend 2 hours shovelling and cleaning out my driveway.

I've been a few times to Poland and can certainly attest to that.

That's brilliant, great fun, without understanding a word! (And I always like "singspiel" would you call it? Around 1.30.)
Many thanks, Merry Christmas!

Super leuk.
Hoeveel tijd had je nodig om dat in elkaar te knutzelen?
1) Ballone Burini 46C (4+5) cassotto (LMMH) 3/3 PA; 2) Accordiola Piano V (5+5) cassotto (LMMMH) 3/3 PA;
3) Roland FR8X; 4) Hohner Vox 4k (LMMH) 3/3 CBA

 Give or take 6 h recording, mixing and mastering, 1 h recording video (with walking around), 6 h editing

Could be longer, but eg. vocals was one take and done, same for piano accompaniment. Accordeon took me several takes... :P

Fantastic! I cannot imagine how it "sounds" to people who do not understand Dutch... It is a very nice Christmas wish song and funny at the same time (but that requires understanding the lyrics).

Merry Christmas to you and all accordion players!
My wife and I will stick to the more traditional xmas songs when we play at xmas (charity) events.
