My Christmas Polka

Post by Yffisch » Sat Dec 30, 2017 8:30 pm

I made a winter christmas polka on my Hohner Nova II 48 accordion and want to share it with you guys! This tune suits very well on this small accordion. It would be very different on a big one :)

I like it! I wouldn't associate it with christmas if you hadn't told us :)

Nicely done

Yiffisch,
Great! 🙂👍
Are you a southpaw? It seems you have the instrument upside down: very neat!
As Ginger Rogers said, she made all the same moves but in high heels and backwards!🙂

Thanks for feedback guys! Well, it does not have to be related with the christmas. But when I wrote it, I was in this snowy sparkling shiny winter landscape and I got this winter wonderland feeling and it came up in my head. And it was in December at christmas time :P

Dingo40: Southpaw was a new word for me, haha. But yes, that is a correct analysis, thanks :)

Southpaw is a boxing term for being left-handed, which most of us here know you are. :)

I thought it was from baseball, where the pitcher's left hand would be on the south side (assuming a diamond with home plate to the west... which I think used to be standard?)

The origins well could be... I've been doing martial arts in my life a LOT more than baseball (never played it, not ONCE in my lfe), so I never heard it coined that way, but any fighter who's predominant hand was his left, I always heard of as being a south paw.
