This 90's Latin Accordion Party Music

Post by mlineguy » Tue Nov 14, 2017 10:39 am

Back in the 90's this accordion (or melodeon) driven song (related to the Dominican genre of "Merengue Tipico") would be played at every latin party. It's still played at parties to this day. It was also featured in a video game called "GTA IV: TBoGT".

Great music! The three row diatonic accordion styles that are popular in the Americas are not very well known in Europe and it's nice to see and hear a bit of variety.

I talked with Louisiana zydeco players who travelled to Domenica and they were blown away at how good the accordionists were. I love how these different traditions embraced accordions in such different ways.
